OUR MISSION

We recognize that when an active first responder dies, it's a son, daughter, father, mother, husband, or wife being taken from a family. Expenses can add up quickly and benefits can often take time to be made available. We want to be able to give back and be FIRST for these families. Their loved one was FIRST for so many other families as a first responder, we want to be FIRST for their family in their time of need.

OUR INSPIRATION

The First Responder Families of West Texas Foundation was created in memory of the late Danny Ireton. He was a volunteer firefighter in Stanton and Martin County, Texas, for over 30 years. Following his untimely passing a monetary gift was received by the family for support. Because of that generosity, it became clear to his loved ones that other families may not have the same support.

With this in mind, we wanted to continue Danny’s legacy of service to his community by providing other first-responder families with not only comfort and support but also aid and practical resources as soon as possible.

- HELP SUPPORT A FALLEN HEROS FAMILY -

Donations received go directly toward helping families who have lost a loved one that is an active first responder. Every little bit helps. Money and resources can't bring back loved ones, but they can help cushion the pain of the loss and reduce the impact of death on income and livelihood.

THE DEATH OF A FIRST RESPONDER
AFFECTS US ALL

It doesn’t matter how or when an active first responder passes because when they do, an entire community can be affected for years to come. First responders and their families are part of an interconnected family, and we want to continue that spirit of community when it is needed the most.
